Stata Project 2

You are a $100 per hour management consultant getting paid big bucks to evaluate web site traffic for econmodel.com, econreview.com, and econclubs.com. You need to compile a report with splashy graphics and a statistical analysis.

You will be evaluated on two elements:

1. You must present a model of the number of visitors to each web site.

Spiffy graphics are a plus.

Do pages, hits, and bandwidth add anything?

Do one web site's numbers help understand another web site's numbers? What is the same? What is different?

2. To evaluate your analysis, your client has withheld the data for Sept. 29 and 30. Use your analysis to forecast traffic for those two days. The accuracy of your forecasts will be important in determining whether your report is taken seriously.

What is the basis for your forecast? How accurate do you expect it to be?

As is common with these kinds of projects, your client may well change the goals as the project evolves. We will discuss changes at the project meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

You will find the data here.
